The cross-reference glossary offers a carefully selected list of frequently used words in IFCI's extensive library of regulatory documents and the other relevant pages of this website. The cross-reference glossary supplements the search tools. This is because the importance attached to a specific term in each on-line document varies greatly and the fact that some words are used interchangeably leads to confusing results. Since certain words are used synonymously IFCI has grouped them together. This cross-reference glossary therefore serves as a guided search of particular words or groups of words in the document pertaining to regulation and control of financial risk. The cross-referenced words have been split into three main groups to enable easy access. In the first group risk categories are listed, the second refers to measurement methods and the third relates to supervisory or regulatory issues. The chosen words do not represent complete listings, nor do they reflect any risk philosophy. They have been chosen for the sake of presenting concise search results where the automatic search tools will deliver unnecessarily elaborate search results. The cross-reference glossary is not a substitute for the search tools (search and smart search) on this website but only a guide to the most important references for a restricted number of terms. 1) Risk Categories 2) Measurement methods 3) Supervision/Compliance /Regulation
